We were honoured to welcome The Deputy Lieutenant to Side by Side School, representing King Charles. The pupils were thrilled by the opportunity to meet him in person and were particularly fascinated by his uniform, which sparked plenty of discussion and admiration.

The students had the chance to learn about the role of a Deputy Lieutenant and the importance of his visit. They gained insights into the duties of those who represent the monarchy, as well as the history and significance behind the ceremonial uniform.

The visit also provided an opportunity for students to practise social skills, such as greeting a distinguished guest, asking questions, and engaging in conversation with someone in a position of authority. It was a valuable experience that not only broadened their understanding of the British monarchy but also enriched their learning in a fun and memorable way.
